You can soon set up your ATM PIN via our credit / debit card activation hotlines
From November 2021, you’ll be able to set up or change your ATM PIN (Personal Identification Number) on your personal credit cards and debit cards1 via our card activation hotlines. To do so, please make sure your mobile phone number is already in our bank records.
How do I set up or change my credit/debit card ATM PIN?
Call the following hotlines:
Credit cards: 3163 0688
Debit cards: 3163 0633
Enter your 16-digit credit/debit card number

FAQs How do I update my mobile phone number with HSBC?
Log on to online banking using your browser and select 'My banking’ > 'Personal details’.
You can then update your mobile phone number under 'Phone Number / Email Address’.
Alternatively, you can visit your nearest HSBC branch with identity proof to update your mobile phone number.
Do I still need to set up a new ATM PIN for my replacement card ? Yes, because you will get a new card with a different card number. Please activate your replacement card and then set up your new ATM PIN. Do I need to set up a new ATM PIN for my renewal card? No, you can continue to use your current ATM PIN on your renewal card.
If you want to change your current ATM PIN, please follow the same instructions listed above.
What if I cannot remember my existing ATM PIN? You can request for a new ATM PIN mailer via post. Simply log on to online banking, then go to 'My Borrowing’ > Manage Card > 'Request Personal Identification Number (PIN)’.
Alternatively, you can visit your nearest HSBC branch with identity proof to set up a new ATM PIN.
